22nd N. C. Troops, Company B 2010 Calendar Special note: look for videos on www.youtube.com under "snakesteve68" -- 8 total, including the latest: Hot Springs 2009! (Special credit to Steve O'Neil for the videos.) Below is the latest schedule for the 22nd N.C. Regiment, Company B, also known as Kirk’s Raiders (3rd N.C. Mounted Infantry, USA). We are looking forward to our best year yet, and we have selected a wide variety of events to keep us busy. There should be something for everyone here! All events except as otherwise noted should be as fully attended as we can muster, and all are excellent opportunities to drill, learn and teach the public. However, maximum effort means exactly that – we would like to have absolutely as many of our members as possible attend those events! Our 2011 insurance will remain with Valley Division through the overall command of the 22nd N.C. companies. Insurance is $12.00 annually per person (spouses and children must be paid for separately to be covered). That means bring weapons, caps, rolled rounds and extra powder. In some cases we may not be able to fire weapons, but we should always come prepared.

The Calendar March 6-7: Camp of Instruction -- Hwy. 64 at Rutherford/Mcdowell County line -- in Cane Creek community, same location as last year. For directions: Michael Arrowood (828) 890-4015 (bring some firewood to share, $5 for the camp expenses, and $12 for annual insurance) March 27-28: Harmon Field (Tryon, NC); living history and battles April 9-11: Battle of Burnsville (Burnsville, NC) May 15-16: Battle of Wilson's Store at the Museum of the Waxhaws (Waxhaw, NC); www.museumofthewaxhaws.com) May: living history event -- to be determined June 5-6: Battle of Warm Springs (Hot Springs, NC) July: possibly Battle of Frogtown (Franklin, NC) or living history August: open at this time; to be determined September 25-26: Murray's Mills (Catawba County, NC) October 8-10: Battle of Fort Sanders (near Knoxville, TN) November 6-7: Skirmish at Zollicoffer (Bluff City, TN) December: Christmas parade and general meeting; date and place to be determined
